Snooker star Marco Fu on Wednesday staged another impressive comeback win in Leicester, as he maintained his dominant start to the season with a come-from-behind victory over six-time ranking event winner Stephen Maguire.
Fu erased a three-frame deficit to defeat Maguire 4-3 en route to punching a ticket for the British Open, set to be held in Cheltenham in September.
It was a one-sided affair in the opening stages as Maguire made breaks of 78, 54 and 51 to take commanding 3-0 lead.
With his back against the wall, Fu stormed back in dominant fashion by taking four frames in a row with runs of 140, 81, 104 and 54.
His 140 in the fourth frame is the highest break of the event so far.
The victory comes a day after the three-time snooker ranking event winner secured his place in the Wuhan Open, after overcoming world number 16 Chris Wakelin.
The 47-year-old will be the only SAR player to feature in the ranking tournament in Wuhan, set for August 24 to 30.
