One of Hong Kong's most influential cultural icons Chua Lam has died at the age of 83.
A post on Chua's personal social media account said he died peacefully on Wednesday at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
"His body was cremated and there will be no ceremonies in accordance with Chua’s wishes to avoid troubling relatives and friends," the post added.
Born in Singapore, Chua found success in Hong Kong as a food critic, film producer, writer and TV personality.
He is often referred as one of "Four Talents of Hong Kong" because of his achievements in the cultural sector, alongside novelist Louis Cha, better known to his readers as Jin Yong, novelist and screenwriter Ni Kuang, and lyricist and songwriter James Wong.
