A naval fleet led by the Shandong aircraft carrier will arrive in Hong Kong next week for a five-day visit, it was announced on Saturday.
The Yan'an and Zhanjiang missile destroyers, as well as the Yuncheng missile frigate, will host a series of tours and cultural exchange activities from July 3 to 7, a statement said.
Xinhua News Agency reported that the events are designed to offer Hong Kong people a more direct and in-depth understanding of the nation's advancements in national defence and military development in the new era.
Last November, two of the country’s warships, the Changsha and the Hainan, made a port visit to the SAR, with members of the public able to go aboard the vessels. (Additional reporting by Xinhua)
