Hong Kong's jobless rate remained stable in the three-month period ending June.
Official figures released by the Census and Statistics Department on Thursday showed the unemployment rate stood at 3.5 percent between April and June, unchanged from the March-to-May period.
Increases in unemployment were seen in the construction and food and beverage service sectors, while jobless rates fell in the arts, entertainment, recreation, professional and business services sectors.
The number of unemployed people in the April-to-June period stood at 136,200, up slightly from 135,800 between March and May.
Total employment decreased by around 7,400 to 3,657,300, while the labour force fell by around 7,000 to 3,793,500.
The underemployment rate, meanwhile, stood steady at 1.4 percent.
"Various industries in Hong Kong are undergoing transition and their respective unemployment rates have different trends," said Labour Secretary Chris Sun in comments on the latest figures.
"The trend of unemployment rate will hinge on the overall economic performance. The entry of fresh graduates and school leavers during the summer may impact the overall employment situation. Nevertheless, the continued expansion of the Hong Kong economy should provide support to the labour market."
