The Court of Appeal has overturned the manslaughter conviction of a doctor over the death of a dance teacher following a liposuction procedure in 2014.
Vanessa Kwan, the doctor who performed the liposuction procedure on Josephine Lee, was convicted of manslaughter by a High Court jury in 2021.
She was sentenced to six years' imprisonment by High Court judge Susana D'Almada Remedios, who called the incident a tragedy.
On Thursday, the Court of Appeal quashed Kwan's conviction and sentence.
The three-judge panel will hand down a judgement in six months.
