CLP on Sunday said the electricity supply has resumed at two of the four blocks at I-Feng Mansions in To Kwa Wan, following a power outage on Saturday evening. The power company said it was still working on reconnecting power to the remaining blocks.

In a social media statement, the Home Affairs Department said the power supply was suspended for all four blocks of the residential estate due to water leakage, and that some 2,000 residents from 800 households had been affected.

The power supply resumed at 3.30am for blocks B and D, as well as for the complex’s public facilities, with residents of the two blocks returning to their homes.

The Water Supplies Department said it helped repair the leaking flush water pipe at 2.30am and that it had arranged a temporary fresh water supply to affected residents.

A resident of the complex surnamed Chan said he took his three children to live in a hotel during the power outage on Saturday night.

“I couldn't stand the heat and had to find a hotel room eventually. It was so hot and stuffy yesterday. I live on the fifteenth floor and had to use the stairs. So we all went out to live in a hotel,” he said.

Another resident said she was arranged to live in a temporary shelter and had sufficient supplies.

“The environment was good. The shelter has air-conditioner, as well as blankets, sheets, pillows, everything. We were also offered drinking water, cookies, bread and chargers. It was not crowded,” she said.

The department said some 20 residents were still staying at government shelters, adding that officers and care teams were on hand.
