The observatory on Tuesday advised people to stay away from slopes because of the potential risk of landslides caused by heavy rain.

Online footage showed water cascading down a slope at Yiu Hing Road, Shau Kei Wan and pouring onto the pavement and road below.

Meanwhile, a roundabout in Chai Wan was flooded and water was seen bursting out of a manhole.

The Transport Department urged drivers to be particularly careful if using Shek O Road near To Tei Wan, as well as the slip road leading from Chai Wan Road to the Island Eastern Corridor.
