Kwu Tung MTR station is on schedule to open in 2027 despite recent extreme weather events.
It will be part of the Northern Link and connect with Kam Sheung Road station when the link opens in 2034.
The MTR Corporation says construction of Kwu Tung station is being sped up through the use of largely prefabricated parts under a Design for Manufacture and Assembly approach.
The head of project delivery for phase one of the Northern Link, Dominic Law, said such parts are being used for the floor of the platform level, stairs throughout the station and more.
"The ground floor slab has been completed in June this year... at the same time all the work and all the activities inside the tunnel box are also progressing per our plan," he said.
Currently, the rail firm is working on the platform level, removing old pillars as well as making a start on the addition of platform screen doors.
Law said the MTR's automated underslab drainage system has helped to monitor abnormal water levels, along with an automatic deformation management system.
"We have gone through multiple occasions of extreme weather... I think all the measures that we have implemented in this Kwu Tung station have proven to be very effective, and there [have been] no impact to any... train service, not even [for] one second."
