The Hong Kong Observatory dropped all rainstorm warning signals at 4pm on Saturday after torrential rain pounded parts of the territory.
The deluge led to the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, which was issued at 9.45am, lasting for two hours and more than 100 millimetres of rainfall being recorded over parts of Kowloon and Tsing Yi at one point.
The forecaster later replaced the highest rainstorm alert with the red at 11.45am, before downgrading it to amber at 12.30pm.
There were five confirmed cases of flooding, according to the Drainage Services Department.
Closed MTR station entrances and exits reopened shortly after noon, while ferry services also resumed gradually around the same time.
Secretary for Security Chris Tang said the Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre had responded promptly and coordinated efforts in safeguarding public safety.
