Thirty-two people on a double-decker and a minibus had to be freed by police officers amid heavy downpours in Tseung Kwan O.
Police received a report on late Monday night that a Citybus and a minibus had both broken down after the vehicles were flooded by water two feet deep. No one was injured.
There were also reports of floods on Castle Peak Road near Kwai Chung. An online video showed two taxis and a minibus were stuck at the location, with water gushing out from sewage covers.
The Transport Department said a number of lanes of Castle Peak Road in Kwai Chung were closed due to flooding.
All lanes of Garden Road flyover towards Wan Chai near Bank of China Tower and all lanes of Lung Cheung Road towards Kwun Tong near Ngau Chi Wan Village were also closed.
Due to severe flooding or landslide, KMB routes 51, 91, 91M, 92, 94 and HK1 have been suspended, with a number of other routes diverted.
Routes operated by Citybus are operating as usual, but the journey time for some routes might be delayed due to heavy rain.
