The Hang Seng Index fell 113.32 points, or 0.45 percent, to open at 24,968 on Friday.

On the mainland, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened down 0.13 percent at 3,634, while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.19 percent lower at 11,136. (Xinhua)
