Police said a worker performing cleaning duties on a Wong Tai Sin footbridge died on Saturday morning after collapsing on the job.
Officers received a report at around 10am from the man's colleague, who found him unconscious on the roof of the footbridge near Ma Chai Hang Playground.
Emergency services transported the man to Caritas Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of death will be determined in an autopsy, officers said.
The Highways Department, which manages the bridge, confirmed the deceased was employed for cleaning work at the site.
The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims expressed deep sorrow over the incident and dispatched representatives to the hospital to offer support to the man's family.
