Firefighters on Sunday rescued 17 people who were trapped for over an hour after Ocean Park's "Wild Twister" ride suddenly stopped.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police received a report from the theme park's staff in the evening that the ride had abruptly stopped, trapping several people. Fire engines and ambulances were dispatched to the location.
A tourist at the park said he saw those who were trapped suspended in mid-air and calmly waiting to be rescued.
Ocean Park said the "Wild Twister" experienced a fault signal at 6.20pm which triggered a safety brake system. It said firefighters began the rescue operation at 7.37pm and that all 17 passengers were safely off the ride by 8.07pm, with no injuries reported.
The park added that the ride will undergo tests and an overhaul.
The "Wild Twister" is advertised on Ocean Park's website as having main and extended arms that swing and spin on their own separate axes.
