The Hang Seng Index climbed 206 points, or 0.8 percent, to open at 25,176 on Wednesday.

Mainland stocks also opened higher with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.07 percent at 3,668, and the Shenzhen Component Index up 0.17 percent at 11,371. (Xinhua)
