The Hang Seng Index lost 197 points, or 0.77 percent, to open at 25,322 on Friday.

Mainland stocks also opened lower with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.18 percent at 3,659, while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.28 percent lower at 11,419. (Xinhua)
