The General Administration of Customs (GAC) said a total of 1.83 million pieces of suspected infringing Labubu products have been intercepted since the beginning of this year.
Wang Jun, deputy head of the GAC, told a press conference on Monday the crackdown helped to safeguard a fair and healthy international trade market environment.
Wang said customs authorities have stepped up efforts to protect intellectual property rights, seizing nearly 400 million pieces of suspected infringing goods during the 14th Five-Year Plan period from 2021 to 2025.
Xinhua News Agency quoted him as saying China has deepened collaboration with customs authorities from a number of other countries in a concerted effort to bolster the global crackdown on intellectual property rights infringement.
