Police on Tuesday charged a 19-year-old woman with a sedition offence.
In a statement, the National Security Department said the suspect was charged with one count of “doing with a seditious intention an act or acts that had a seditious intention.”
She was allegedly involved in producing promotional videos for the group “Hong Kong Parliament” between March and May this year.
The group has been deemed by the government as a subversive organisation that aims to overturn the nation’s constitutional order.
The suspect is also accused of urging others through social media to vote with the aim of overthrowing and undermining the central or Hong Kong SAR government.
She was set to appear at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday afternoon.
