The Our Hong Kong Foundation has called on the government to set up more pilot zones to test drones and promote Hong Kong’s low-altitude economy.
The think tank made 20 recommendations to try to unlock the potential of the local low-altitude economy.
Its vice president, Ryan Ip, said there is huge market potential worldwide.
He suggested creating three pilot zones in the Northern Metropolis and exploring cross-border drone delivery services.
“You have to make sure the risk levels are controllable, so you have to look for areas that are relatively low density and there are potential application scenarios,” he said.
