Voting is underway in the 2025 Election Committee Subsector by-elections.
By 10am, just an hour after polls opened, turnout had reached 42.05 percent.
And by 3pm, turnout had exceeded 93 percent.
A total of 3,396 of the 3,631 registered voters had cast their ballots.
Electoral Affairs Commission chairman David Lok said despite the unstable weather, polling and ballot counting will proceed as scheduled.
"We’re confident today’s by-election will be completed smoothly in an open, fair, and honest manner. Polling and vote counting should be finished within a reasonable time-frame, and we’ll announce the results afterwards," he said.
There are five polling stations for voters at the Central Library, Kowloon Park Sports Centre, Wai Tsuen Sports Centre, Tiu Keng Leng Sports Centre, and Che Kung Temple Sports Centre.
In addition, a special polling station was set up at Happy Valley Police Station.
Ballot counting will begin after polls close at 6pm.
