An HK Express flight from Beijing was involved in a runway incident on Monday morning after it reportedly struck signage while taxiing at Hong Kong International Airport, according to the Airport Authority.
The flight, UO235, had just touched down on the north runway after arriving from Beijing Daxing International Airport with 137 passengers and crew on board when the incident happened.
The aircraft is suspected to have collided with signage along the edge of the runway.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.
One passenger, Wang, said the aircraft felt unsteady even before the incident, adding that he felt a lurch upon landing.
"After more than an hour, fire trucks and police arrived with ladders to help us get off," he said.
"It was actually quite scary because, during the flight, I had never experienced anything like this on any other plane. This plane felt very shaky the entire time."
Another passenger, Lee, reported feeling a sudden application of the brakes during taxiing.
While she did not smell anything unusual in the cabin, an announcement from the captain informed passengers that the aircraft required inspection.
She said this led to a wait of approximately an hour and a half before they could disembark.
Following the incident, the authority conducted a thorough inspection and the north runway was cleared and reopened to operations at 12.15pm the same day.
A probe into the incident is to be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Authority, under the Transport and Logistics Bureau.
The authority said it's "currently collecting data and information, as well as identifying areas for further investigation or lines of inquiry to follow up".
"The investigation is to be conducted by the [authority] with the objective of identifying the circumstances and causes of the incident with a view to preventing recurrence," a spokesperson said.
The Civil Aviation Department, for its part, said it is closely following up with Hong Kong Express and will fully support the investigation.
