HK Electric said on Tuesday night that it’s providing temporary power supply to most of the Repulse Bay households that had been hit by an outage in the afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 2.30 pm and left approximately 230 units along Repulse Bay Road without electricity.
A company spokesperson said according to initial investigation, third-party construction work in the area had damaged an 11-kilovolt high-voltage cable.
The company said it has dispatched engineering personnel for emergency repairs, adding that temporary power supply has been restored to most affected households.
HK Electric apologised for the incident, and said a thorough probe is underway.
