Hong Kong, China's Ng On-yee rewrote the history books for the SAR at the 2025 English Open on Thursday, producing the highest break ever made by a women's player in professional snooker competition.

The three-time women's world champion compiled a clearance of 137 in her opening-round match with Britain's Liam Highfield at the Essex's Brentwood Centre, smashing a previous record held for over 33 years.

Allison Fisher crafted a run of 133 at the Dubai Classic qualifiers in 1992, a world ranking event.

Fisher equalled her own record with a break of 133 against Stephen Hendry the following year, according the records page of the World Snooker Tour.
