About a thousand people gathered at a vigil for Charlie Kirk outside the British Prime Minister’s office in London on Friday.
Wearing MAGA hats and draped in British and American flags, the crowd was strikingly diverse - a mix of older attendees alongside many young, politically well-informed men.
Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was killed by a single bullet as he spoke onstage at an outdoor amphitheatre at Utah Valley University.
"I didn't agree with everything that Charlie Kirk ever said, but I have to say that he stood for some fundamental values, which I did agree with, fundamentally for family, for culture, for country," 22-year-old Isaac Grand said.
"I had a lot of respect for the man. I agree with what a lot of what he had to say," retiree, Sandra Jaggers, said.
The event did not have any speakers, but people in the crowd could be overheard discussing Kirk’s views and remembering his most striking debates. Several attendees declined to speak to Reuters by saying “I’m here for Charlie.” (Reuters)
