The Chinese and US delegations arrived in Madrid on Sunday for a fresh round of economic and trade talks.
Vice Premier He Lifeng and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent kicked off their meeting at the Spanish capital, which is scheduled to last for four days.
The Commerce Ministry earlier said that American tariffs, "abuse of export controls and Tiktok" are among the topics that will be brought up.
Before the talks, the Xinhua News Agency issued a commentary, saying the fact that the topics have been put on the agenda demonstrates how both sides want to resolve differences through dialogue.
It stressed that China is firmly committed to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises. (Xinhua)
