The Hang Seng Index gained 115 points, or 0.44 percent, to open at 26,554 on Wednesday.

Mainland shares though opened lower with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.2 percent at 3,854, and the Shenzhen Component Index down 0.01 percent at 13,062. (Xinhua)
