RTHK has signed a memoradum of understanding with Guangxi Radio and Television to foster further collaboration and exchanges.
The signing ceremony, held on Thursday during the China-Asean Expo in Nanning, came after the two broadcasters co-organised a music event in July featuring Chinese and Vietnamese songs.
Under the agreement, RTHK plans to make use of the Guangxi station's broadcasting network that covers more than 100 million people to produce programmes introducing Hong Kong's strengths and culture, reaching audience members in Vietnam and in other Asean countries.
The delegation from RTHK also met leadership from the Guangxi broadcaster on collaboration in a number of areas such as programme resources and copyright, with a view to foster exchanges between the two sides and in the Greater Bay Area.
Director of Broadcasting Angelina Kwan said Guangxi serves as a bridge between the country and Asean nations, while Hong Kong acts as a gateway to the rest of the world.
Strengthening collaboration will complement each other's strengths and promote Chinese culture to other places, she said, adding that RTHK will continue to work with other broadcasters in Asean to tell the good story of the country and Hong Kong.
