The Hang Seng Index gained 38.18 points, or 0.14 percent, to open at 26,583 on Friday.

On the mainland, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.03 percent to open at 3,830, while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.01 percent lower at 13,074. (Xinhua)
