RTHK and several other local media platforms are broadcasting from Monday two special programmes featuring President Xi Jinping's thoughts on culture and the economy.
The programmes, produced by China Media Group, are part of celebrations marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
They air on RTHK's TV and new media channels.
One of the shows, featuring Xi's thoughts on culture, will offer stories and interviews in places such as Hebei, Fujian, Zhejiang and Gansu provinces – where he had worked or conducted inspections before – to explore how the experiences shape his governance.
The other programme, focusing on the president's thoughts on the economy, will present a series of in-depth interviews with experts explaining Xi's principles and theories on China's economic development.
At a ceremony to mark the programme launch, Zhou Ji, director of Beijing's liaison office in Hong Kong, said he believes the two shows would help Hong Kong society better understand the president's thoughts on building a modern Chinese socialist society in the new era.
Zhou also said as China's economy became an increasingly important driver for global growth, it will also offer strong backing for the SAR, while Hong Kong plays an irreplaceable role contributing to the nation's reform and opening up.
Speaking at the same event, Chief Executive John Lee said the programmes would help Hongkongers learn more about Chinese civilisation as well as the country's key strategies for developing the economy.
