Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) on Monday said its new director, Felix Chan, will assume the role from Thursday as the platform plans a series of tours next month to lure global talent.
The one-stop platform for attracting and supporting global high-skilled workers to settle in the SAR via global recruitment efforts and summits comes under the Labour and Welfare Bureau.
In a statement, Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun welcomed Chan's taking the reins at the platform, noting that talent is a prime resource.
"We look to Mr Chan to lead HKTE in proactively recruiting, attracting and retaining talent, supporting Hong Kong's development into an international hub for high-calibre talent," he said.
Chan is expected to lead the team to visit mainland cities such as Beijing and overseas, including the UK and Switzerland, next month to woo global talent while ramping up its global promotional efforts.
HKTE will also work to match talent with local enterprises as it engages working partners, universities, chambers of commerce and trade associations to promote opportunities in the SAR.
Chan was previously general manager of business development at the Hong Kong Tourism Board between 2020 and 2025. He also held various management roles in the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and multinational corporations.
He replaces Anthony Lau, who left the job in July to return to the Tourism Board as executive director.
