A woman has died on Tuesday after being struck by a crane at a construction site in Tai Po.
Police were notified at about 3.30pm of a woman lying unconscious at a construction site on Tai Po Road.
She suffered chest and back injuries, and was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Officers said initial investigations suggest that the victim, 62, was struck by a crane at the site.
The case has been classified as an industrial accident, and an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of her death.
The Labour Department, for its part, said it has launched an investigation into the incident.
