Hundreds of thousands of spectators on both sides of the harbour were treated to a dazzling array of fireworks on Wednesday as the city celebrated the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Themed "Victoria Harbour Fireworks Shine Across the Motherland”, the 23-minute show was separated into eight parts and discharged more than 30,000 firework shells to entertain the crowds.
The sky was first filled with fireworks in the shape of peonies and chrysanthemums.
This was followed by a scene dedicated to the animation film Nezha, accompanied by its soundtrack.
The fourth part featured panda-patterned fireworks, along with green-coloured fireworks symbolising bamboo.
The seventh act highlighted the upcoming National Games in November, with fireworks of three different colours blasting into the sky, signifying the three Greater Bay Area zones of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, joining forces in organising the competition.
