Hong Kong stocks climbed to their highest level in over four years on their first trading day in October as tech shares jumped, fuelled by upbeat sentiment over artificial intelligence and JPMorgan's price target hike for Alibaba.
At the close of trade, the Hang Seng Index was up 1.6 percent at 27,287 - its strongest close since July 2021.
Mainland markets were closed for the Golden Week holiday. (Reuters)
