RTHK will broadcast a mini-drama series from Friday night to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The broadcaster co-produced the five-minute episodes of "Victory in War of Resistance" with the Information Services Department – the first time the two departments worked together on a programme with such a format.
Director of Broadcasting Angelina Kwan said the production team made use of artificial intelligence and old photographs of the former airport at Kai Tak to generate some Japanese-occupation-era scenes in the show.
She thanked the crew for its professionalism, noting that most of the filming was done in Foshan, Guangdong, in August.
"We all remember that the weather then was extremely unstable and hot, and there were persistent heavy rains," Kwan said at the event marking the launch of the show.
"This posed significant challenges for our filming.
"Additionally, there was an outbreak of chikungunya fever in Foshan so the crew had to be very careful with their health. I found the entire process quite arduous."
Director of Information Services Apollonia Liu expressed hope that viewers would be able to experience how the martyrs defended the country with their blood during the war.
The programme will be broadcast at 9.30pm for five consecutive nights on RTHK channel 31 and also be available on the websites of RTHK and the Information Services Department for replay.
