Radio Television Hong Kong is holding its Vinyl Pop Up exhibition in Qianhai, Shenzhen, the broadcaster's first branded exhibition on the mainland.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the three-month exhibition held at the Eye of the Bay Area bookstore in Qianhai, Director of Broadcasting Angelina Kwan said RTHK has always been committed to promoting cultural exchanges in the Greater Bay Area.
The vinyl exhibition was first held in the SAR in July – attracting tens of thousands of visitors with its showcase of more than 100 carefully selected records from the 1950s to the 1990s – to celebrate the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.
At the invitation of Qianhai authorities, RTHK is now holding this exhibition in Shenzhen to connect music lovers from both cities and share collective musical memories.
Ms Kwan said the event will further expand the broadcaster's cooperation network on the mainland.
RTHK, she added, is also exploring the possibility of bringing Hong Kong-related events to more mainland cities to promote in-depth cultural exchanges between the SAR and the nation.
The Director of Broadcasting also visited the China Media Group's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Centre in Qianhai, where she met its deputy convenor.
They explored future cooperation in areas such as programme production and joint promotions.
