The annual Operation Santa Claus (OSC) fundraising campaign officially launched on Tuesday, marking the beginning of its latest drive to bring care and hope to communities across Hong Kong.
Co-organised by RTHK and the South China Morning Post, this year's OSC will support thirteen local beneficiary organisations.
Their projects are focused on creating positive change for children, youths, the elderly and individuals with disabilities or in mental health recovery.
These initiatives also address critical issues such as poverty, education, health and well-being, inclusivity and sustainability.
Under the theme "Building Bridges", the campaign celebrates the power of compassion to connect people and inspire collective action for a stronger community.
The launch ceremony set a heartfelt tone, featuring a performance by singer Jaime Cheung, who is an OSC ambassador.
Ambassador Lisa-Marie Tse, a former Miss Hong Kong, also moved the audience by sharing personal stories from her past charity work.
Adding a unique touch to the event, circus performing artist LaiYee delivered a performance that blended art with philanthropy.
In the coming weeks, OSC will continue to engage the public through a variety of fundraising events, including a football tournament in partnership with the Hong Kong Football Club and charity activities hosted by corporations and schools.
