Police on Wednesday said they arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing three customs officers during an anti-narcotics operation last Thursday.
The officers entered a flat in To Kwa Wan where they found a variety of drugs with a street value of some HK$1.8 million.
Police said the 38-year-old was suspected to have attacked the officers before escaping through a window, and then taking a taxi.
An acting senior superintendent, Gar Kam-lam, said officers found the man on the streets of Yuen Long on Wednesday morning, and arrested him for wounding, drug trafficking and possessing offensive weapons.
"Over the past few days, we saw that besides going to Tai Po and then fleeing on another private car, the suspect went to different places to hide, such as Sai Kung, Hung Shui Kiu and Yuen Long," he told reporters.
Gar said a total of three men, suspected to have triad backgrounds, were arrested on suspicion of helping an offender.
A woman from the suspect's family was arrested on suspicion of misleading police.
