At least 18 people were injured on Saturday in a bus crash near the airport.

Police said that shortly after 3pm, a Citybus double-decker mounted a roadside planter near the Terminal 1 drop-off area.

Most of those hurt were taken to hospital, but no serious injuries were reported.

The A12 bus had been travelling to the airport from Siu Sai Wan.

Citybus expressed its condolences to the passengers and said it deployed staff to the site and hospitals to follow up on the matter.

The company added that the driver, who was among those injured, was suspended following the crash.
