Tourist arrivals in October climbed 12 percent from a year ago, with travellers from the mainland accounting for three-quarters of all visits.
Provisional data from the Hong Kong Tourism Board on Monday showed the total number of trips reached nearly 4.6 million last month.
Among them, nearly 3.5 million were made by mainland visitors, representing an increase of 10 percent compared with the same period in 2024.
That brought total tourist arrivals to the SAR in the first 10 months of 2025 to around 41 million, a 12 percent jump year on year.
Mainland visitors accounted for about 31 million of those trips, marking an 11 percent rise year on year, while figures for non-mainland tourists experienced stronger growth.
"Non-Chinese mainland visitors accounted for 9.62 million, increasing by 16 percent year on year. Among the markets, growth of visitors from Taiwan, Australia and the Middle East markets were more prominent," the board said in a statement.
Overseas long-haul visits totalled 2.8 million from January to October while short-haul tourists came close to 5.3 million.
