Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on Monday said conditions were not yet ready for a meeting among the leaders of China, Japan and South Korea.
Mao said the blatant and erroneous remarks recently made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi regarding Taiwan have undermined the foundation and atmosphere for trilateral cooperation among the three countries.
She also said reports that Japan was planning to deploy offensive weapons on one of its islands was an extremely dangerous development, calling for increased vigilance from neighbouring countries and the international community. (Xinhua)
