The Transport Department has called on commuters who may be affected by the deadly Tai Po blaze to plan their journey before they head out on Thursday morning.
It noted that a number of roads were temporarily closed because of the fire, including a segment of Tai Po Road and the slip roads leading the Tolo Highway to Tai Po Road in Yuen Chau Tsai.
"As for public transport, about 40 daytime and overnight bus routes travelling these road sections were affected and diverted," the department said in a statement.
"The public should refer to the bus companies' website or mobile application for the latest information on the routes, and use railway services as far as possible."
Meanwhile, the Education Bureau said classes for a number of primary and secondary schools in Tai Po will be suspended on Thursday because of the fire.
Officials said other schools could choose to cancel classes in accordance with the existing mechanism.
The bureau called on schools and their staff to pay attention to the emotional well-being of students.
