Chief Executive John Lee, top government officials, Executive Council members and civil servants will observe three minutes of silence at 8am on Saturday at the government headquarters in Tamar to mourn those who died in the Tai Po fire.
From Saturday until Monday, all government buildings and facilities across Hong Kong will fly the national and HKSAR flags at half-mast.
During this period, government officials will cancel all non-essential public events, and entertainment and celebration activities organised or funded by the government will also be cancelled or postponed as appropriate.
The government says members of the public can sign condolence books to express their deep sympathy for the victims at 18 Home Affairs Department offices.
