Police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man after his car reportedly hit and killed an elderly man near Mai Po in Lok Ma Chau in the early hours of the morning.

The vehicle was travelling along Tam Kon Chau Road towards Yuen Long when it hit the 94-year-old man shortly after 4am.

The victim sustained multiple serious injuries and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 7.30am.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.

The police are investigating.

They urged anyone who witnessed the crash, or has information about it, to contact them.
