The independent committee probing the Tai Po fire on Tuesday inspected Wang Fuk Court to learn more about the environment and conditions there.
The committee, chaired by judge David Lok, was formed earlier this month and started its work last Friday. Its members include Executive Council member Chan Kin-por and MTR Corporation chairman Rex Auyeung.
"The committee inspected various indoor and outdoor locations at Wang Fuk Court to gain a better understanding of the actual environment and conditions of the estate; the causes and circumstances that led to the fire and its rapid spread," it said in a statement.
The committee added that members also reviewed the fire service installations and equipment used in the buildings, the materials used in building maintenance and renovation works, as well as construction safety matters.
161 people have died in the devastating inferno last month, with authorities saying the death toll could still rise.
