Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn said on Monday that authorities will put two medium-sized residential plots up for tender in the coming quarter as part of the land sale programme for January to March 2026.

She said the sites, located on Choi Ha Road in Ngau Tau Kok and Shau Kei Wan Main Street East, are expected to provide approximately 470 and 200 flats respectively.

She said the sites are located in well-established communities near MTR stations and are expected to be well-received by the market.

Beyond direct land sales, the development chief said additional private housing supply will come from other channels.

She said the MTR Corporation will launch the second phase of its Kam Sheung Road Station project, contributing about 1,290 units.

Meanwhile, preliminary works will begin on the Urban Renewal Authority’s Kai Tak Road and Sa Po Road development, with the aim of delivering 810 flats as early as possible.

A further 190 units will come from private and redevelopment projects.

Linn noted that overall private housing land supply for the year is estimated to reach about 15,750 units - exceeding the annual target of 13,200.

"We are encouraged to see this overshooting because it reflects that the private market is gaining momentum and picking up again," she said.

"We are glad to facilitate through our land sales as well and this is why we are rolling out two sites this quarter even though we know that we will possibly exceed the target."
