Asian shares slipped on Tuesday, tracking Wall Street's tech slump, while silver and gold steadied after a sharp pullback from record highs took some froth off the precious metals' incredible rally.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 1.17 points, or 0.01 percent, to open at 25,636 points.
However, mainland stocks opened lower, with the Shanghai Composite Index down 0.44 percent to open at 3,947 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index, meanwhile, opened 0.52 percent lower at 13,466 points. (Xinhua/Reuters)
