Police are searching for the boyfriend of a 35-year-old woman, whose body was found on Tuesday morning at a Kwun Tong public housing estate.
Police say they received a missing person report late on Monday from the family of the woman, saying she had left her residence in Sau Mau Ping in the early hours of the same day.
Officers believed the woman had gone to a flat in Hei Wah House on Lok Wah South Estate. On searching the unit, they found the body of the woman with multiple injuries to her head and body under a bedframe. Initial investigations point to her having been assaulted with a hard object.
The carcasses of three dogs and a cat were also found in the unit.
Police say the boyfriend is non-Chinese and holds a Hong Kong identity card.
The case has been classified as murder.
