Police have arrested a man on suspicion of trafficking dangerous drugs after finding more than 100 kilogrammes of cannabis buds at a flat in Sheung Shui.
The man, 28, was stopped by officers on Monday evening while allegedly carrying a kilogramme of cannabis buds.
More of the drug was discovered during a subsequent flat search, along with more than 650 etomidate cartridges.
Police said the haul had a street value of more than HK$20 million.
The man is expected to appear in court in Fanling on Wednesday.
"The force would like to remind all citizens that etomidate was listed as a dangerous drug in mid-February last year. Selling etomidate, just like selling cannabis buds, is a form of drug trafficking and it is a serious offence," said inspector Ng Ka-wai.
"According to the law, one could face up to a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment upon conviction."
