Police have launched a probe after a man in his 70s was found to be unconscious inside a hotel room in Tsim Sha Tsui, and later died in hospital.
His wife, who is of a similar age, was also taken to hospital.
Officers were alerted to the case at around 5pm on Thursday, after staff at the Ramada Hong Kong Grand hotel found that the couple did not check out of their room.
The two were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where the man was pronounced dead.
It’s understood the couple suffered chronic illnesses, and that sleeping pills were found inside the hotel room.
