Customs officers have arrested a man suspected of illegally importing a cat into the SAR.

Officers said they found a cat in a rucksack at the arrival hall of Lo Wu Control Point on Tuesday.

They said the cat had an estimated market value of about HK$20,000.

A 62-year-old man was arrested.

The matter has been referred to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for follow-up investigation.
