Three people will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates Courts on Friday, charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs. The charges come after Hong Kong Customs on Wednesday seized about 21 kilos of suspected cannabis buds at Hong Kong International Airport.
Officers found about four kilos in the suitcase of a 42-year-old man, who had arrived from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia via Singapore.
In a follow-up investigation, a 33-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were also arrested at the airport. About 17 kilos were found in the woman's suitcase.
Customs also found about 2 grammes of suspected methamphetamine and several tablets of suspected nimetazepam on the 42-year-old man.
Customs put the street value of the seized drugs at HK$4.2 million.
